Helen Roper was a wildly popular character played by Audra Lindley in the sitcom, "Three’s Company", from 1977 until 1980. Mrs. Roper was the wise-cracking, caftan-wearing, sex-deprived wife of landlord Stanley Roper.
In 2013, during Labor Day weekend in New Orleans, a group of 50 people walked in the annual Southern Decadence Parade dressed as Mrs. Roper, complete with caftans and curly wigs. The group was called, "The Million Mrs. Roper March". It was a huge hit! Over the years, the march has morphed into a bar crawl called, "The Mrs. Roper Romp".
Today, there are countless Mrs. Roper Romp groups all over the world! The "Mrs. Roper Romp" group on Facebook currently has over 57,000 members!
